The death of Homi J Bhabha - An Indian conspiracy theory

Homi Jehangir Bhabha is one of the most renowned physicists that the nation has ever produced. Today he is called the father of Indian nuclear programs due to the foundation contributions that he has provided for the development of the program. Even today it can be said that it is through his contribution that our nuclear program and arsenal is so strong holding the same level of various developed nations all around the world. Doctor Homi J Bhabha was a nuclear physicist, renowned scientist and a teaching faculty at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research- TIFR and was one of the founding members of Bhabha Atomic Research Center- BARC which was named after him for his contributions to the Indian Nuclear program development.

It is evident from history that the contribution of Doctor Homi J Bhabha is responsible for the development of the Indian nuclear program and the same aspect would have provoked the murderers of Homi J Bhabha if it was a planned assassination. The death of Homi J Bhabha is one of the biggest conspiracy theory of India and their chances of it being a murder are so high. Today ever after more than half a century after his death or assassination it falls among the category of top 10 conspiracy theory which has been pointed out in India and almost all around the world. Let's now move on to understand the death of Homi J Bhabha in detail to understand the conspiracy behind it.

How did Homi J Bhabha die?

Air India Aircraft 101 named Kanchenjunga a Boeing 707 aircraft traveling from Mumbai to London carrying Homi J Bhabha is said to have crashed at Mont Blanc which is the highest mountain of the Alps and Western Europe. It's said that the crash happened on 24 January 1966 which was caused due to the miscommunication between the pilot and the control tower at the Geneva Airport on where it was supposed to land. The miscommunication caused the pilot to descend earlier, mispositioning it between the mountains causing the crash.

All the 11 members of the flight crew as well as 106 passengers on board along with Homi J Bhabha were dead at the spot. A glacier that was disrupted due to the crash had swallowed most of the remains of the crash leaving only certain parts of the aircraft for false detection.

The conspiracy on the death of Homi J Bhabha

Robert Crowley a CIA official during the sixties disclosed in an interview with journalist Gregory Douglas which was published in the book Conversations with the Crow depicting the involvement of the Central Intelligence Agency of America with the demise of Homi J Bhabha and with the aspects of the crash of the Air India Aircraft 101. This indicated the Americas oppression theory on nations which was close to the development of nuclear technology in the mid of the last century.

Earlier America was only the sole holder of nuclear weapons technology and nearly for two decades other nations were able to achieve it. Later in 1964 the Soviet Union, as well as China, were able to succeed in its development, this became a major concern for the United States of America. Moreover, as they learned that India was closer to achieving the technology they decided to eliminate the chief scientist behind it. This comes not as a surprise today in 1965 Homi J Bhabha in an interview with All India Radio indicated that India is closer to achieving nuclear technology and we will soon have an atomic bomb just almost a year before his death. Many of the people tent to believe it is a coincidence but most of the evidence indicated it as a planned assassination.

In the interview, Robert Crowley added that it was an unfortunate incident when the Boeing 707 had a bomb go off in the cargo hold which indicated the direct or indirect involvement of the American agency in the death of Homi J Bhabha.

Another conspiracy theory revolving around the death of Homi J Bhabha is that the Air India Aircraft collided with another aircraft leading to the death of passengers on board both aircraft. In 2017 Daniel Roche, a renowned Swiss climber found remains of aircraft in the Alps during one of his climbs. As another Air India Aircraft, the Malabar Princess had already crashed during the 1950 in the same spot, it could have been the remains of either two.

Roche believes that the Air India Aircraft 101 collided with another aircraft causing it to crash land in the Alps. To substantiate his view he added that if the Air India Aircraft 101 had hit the mountain there would have been a huge explosion with over 41000 tonnes of fuel onboard the aircraft. This was not the case here, however, if it had crashed with another aircraft due to the lower levels of oxygen at such high altitude there would not have been an explosion due to fire.

However, the Final French Report on the incident indicated that the occurrence of the accident involving the crash of the Air India Aircraft 101 is due to the miscalculation by the pilot, rather than the involvement of another plane or a bomb in the cargo hold. Moreover, the report indicated that one of the receivers was not working and the pilot miscalculated or misinterpreted the verbal confirmation regarding the aircraft position and the height of the mountain range.

Even today after all the reports and contradictions by various authorities many of the Indians do not believe in how Homi J Bhabha died in an aircraft accident? Or Was he murdered? And remains as one of the major unsolved conspiracy theory of India. Who knows, let's hope that time will reveal the truth.
